QUASAR EDU is a Cambridge IGCSE Biology practice tool. It is built guest-first: you can use the full free practice experience without creating an account. This page describes, plainly, what data exists, where it lives, and who else ever sees it.

What stays on your device only

Your name, target grade, exam date, focus note, theme, study environment, progress history, weak-point tracking, and cost/usage logs are stored in your browser’s local storage. None of this is sent to our servers unless you explicitly choose to link an account (“Save Your Lab”). Clearing your browser data or using a different device/browser starts fresh — see the notice shown during setup and in the progress panel.

What is sent to make the product work

Question generation and marking:the Biology paragraph/content you submit and the answers you type are sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate questions and produce examiner-style marking. This is the core function of the product and cannot be turned off while using it.
Anonymous usage limiting: a signed, random browser identifier (not tied to your name or any personal detail) is stored in a cookie so free daily generation/evaluation limits can be enforced even if local storage is cleared.
Evaluator dispute reports: if you report a marking issue, a summary (paper type, score, reason) is always included. The actual question/answer/mark-scheme text is only included if you explicitly opt in via the consent toggle on that report form.
Beta feedback: if you answer an in-app feedback prompt (clarity/value/willingness-to-pay), that response is stored locally and, if configured, relayed to the team.
Anonymous analytics:when enabled, QUASAR EDU uses Google Analytics 4 for traffic and acquisition reporting, and PostHog for anonymous, structured product events (e.g. “generation completed”). Product events contain no free text, no session replay, and no identify() call linking events to a person.

If you choose “Save Your Lab”

Creating an account (via Supabase) is entirely optional and lets your progress follow you across devices. Only what your account explicitly saves is stored server-side; deleting your account removes that data.

Premium payments

Premium purchases are processed entirely by Gumroad. QUASAR EDU never sees or stores your card details — only a license key used to verify your entitlement.
